Since moving to Bangkok, I've never missed celebrating Songkran. This year's Songkran festival (2024) was one of my favorites!
If you're visiting Bangkok in April, be prepared to get wet! Songkran, the Thai New Year, is a water festival where people drench each other with water to wash away bad luck. Embrace the fun and join the festive atmosphere!
2. Explore Ban Tad Thong Road
This is a must-visit for your dinner adventure. Check out this video to see the whole vibe of this road. Venture off the beaten path and explore this charming Ban Tad Thong Road. Hunt for unique finds at Bangkok's many thrift stores! Whether you're searching for vintage clothing, quirky souvenirs, or home decor treasures, you're sure to unearth hidden gems at a fraction of the cost.
I've been to Bangsue Junction and you can find a lot of good stuff there.
10. Temple Time
Bangkok is adorned with majestic temples, each a testament to Thailand's rich cultural heritage. Explore the opulent Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, be mesmerized by the vibrant murals at Wat Pho, or climb the steps to Wat Arun for breathtaking city views.
11. Rent and Wear A Thai Costume
Immerse yourself in Thai culture by renting a traditional Thai costume. I did this when I went to Wat Arun Temple. Choose between elegant silks or playful cotton prints and take stunning photos against iconic Bangkok backdrops.

Bangkok boasts a wealth of fascinating and aesthetic museums. One of my favorites is the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). You can also go to the Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC) for free entrance. Explore and learn about the unique world of Jim Thompson at the Jim Thompson House.

The Siam area is a shopper's paradise, offering a diverse mix of malls, flagship stores, and street markets. Go to the popular Siam Paragon Mall and CentralWorld for high-end brands, or find trendy boutiques and local designers at Siam Center or explore the walking street at Siam Square. 18. Seafood Paradise: Thonburi Market
Experience the vibrant atmosphere of a traditional Thai market at the Thonburi Market. This market is quite close to where I live so I've been here many times and eating seafood is what I love.
This is a huge market sectioned into four different zones: a variety of raw meat and seafood, fruit and vegetables, street food and booths, and a sitting and dining area with a huge and expensive-looking chandelier hanging over the food zone.
19. Relax and Rejuvenate: Spa and Massage
Indulge in some pampering at one of Bangkok's many spas. Choose from a traditional Thai massage to unwind after a day of exploring, or treat yourself to a luxurious spa treatment like an aromatherapy massage or a body scrub. Bangkok offers a wide range of options to suit your budget and needs.
